Hearing Tests
Kurnai College is offering hearing tests utilising the hearing screening App Sound Scouts. The App has been developed by Sound Scouts HQ in collaboration with Australia’s National Acoustic Laboratories, the research arm of Australian Hearing and is supported by the Department of Health.
Your child will play a game on an iPad/tablet or smart phone using a set of headphones under the supervision of a responsible adult. A report will be automatically generated following the test. Hearing assessment is encouraged due to the importance of early intervention of hearing issues. Optimal educational outcomes are dependent on good hearing.
If you are concerned about your child’s hearing or would simply like a screening done – please contact me at sarah.pearse-clark@eduation.vic.gov.au

National Day of Action against Bullying
We are having a special event at Kurnai College for National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence.
The theme for 2022 is Kindness Culture. By building Kindness Culture together, we can promote inclusion, respect and community belonging for all students in schools across Australia.
The date is Friday 18th March, 2022
During the lunchtime, we will be visited by Street Games, Headspace and Youth space. We will also be having fun activities to promote awareness of the impacts of bullying.
I work Monday, Tuesday and Thursday across all the campuses of Kurnai. Students or families can organise to see me by talking to their teachers or the welfare team or email sarah.pearse-clark@education.vic.gov.au

MUSIC UPDATE
Churchill Campus Parent Teacher Meet and Greet Barbecue:
Students from Churchill Campus’ 9/10 music elective class had the opportunity to provide musical entertainment at the recent Parent Teacher Meet and Greet Barbecue, on the 24th of February.
I would like to congratulate all of the students on their first performance of the year, presenting their most recent ensemble works to a live and well received audience.
It was great to be able to provide live music and entertainment to the new families of our learning community. If any student is wishing to pursue learning a musical instrument, please collect an expression of interest form from the general office, or feel free to speak to Mr Gretton or Mr Hopkins to find out more information.
NEW ART DISPLAY CABINETS
There are now various displays of student work both indoors & outdoors in our display cabinets, located around the school library, year 7 corridor, language centre, general office and welfare office Please take the time to appreciate our students' artistic endeavours.
