Camp Manyung Newsletter Special

Two weeks ago we embarked on our 3/4 camp to Camp Manyung in Mt Eliza. I'm sure by now that you have all heard a lot of great stories about the camp and the different things that the children got to experience. Below are some comments from each of the children about their first school camp experience and some accompanying photos. We hope you enjoy! Also I just wanted to thank Ms Anto who helped both 3/4s classes put this week's camp feature together!

The giant swing and the flying fox are definitely my favourite activities at the camp because I went all the way to the top and I had to pull the rope to swing, which made it really fun.

I had lots of fun in my cabin, we did pillow fights and stayed up late chatting. I saw tons of crabs during the rock pool ramble.

Free time during camp was the best because I had lots of time to talk with my friends. Breakfast was really amazing as their  chefs were really good at cooking.

When I got to go on the giant swing and the flying fox I was excited because I have never  gone on one before and it looked like fun. I also liked the rockpool ramble because I saw lots of crabs there.

I enjoyed the flying fox because it went really fast and I liked the giant swing because I can go as high as I wanted. My cabin was 7B, I loved staying in my cabin with my friends and we stayed up late.

I had a disco party in the cabin with  my friends. I liked the rock pool ramble activity at the beach because we had to find things on the beach.

- Marsarlina

I enjoyed playing in the gaga pit ,, I got 10 players out and I won the game. I went really high in the giant swing and when everyone said 1,2,3…  I had to pull the string which was the fun bit.

- Luka

The most fun part was the giant swing because I like heights and it was fun when it swings to and forth. I enjoyed being in the cabin and sleeping with friends.

My favourite thing was the flying fox because I was not really scared and loved looking at the bush on the way. I loved the dinner and the dessert because they were yummy and we always had lots of food there.

I was scared to go on the flying fox but I tried and went up the ladder.  EI enjoyed the rock pool ramble because I found lots of crabs.

My most favourite thing at the camp was the dinner, because of the roast and the potatoes, they tasted delicious. I won twice in the gaga pit and it was very funny.

I really liked the flying fox and the giant swing. The activities during initiatives were really fun too. Finding crabs during the rockpool ramble was fun too but it was very tiring to walk down and up to the beach.

The best thing I did at the camp was the giant swing as it went really high. I was scared a little bit but enjoyed doing it.The movie night was awesome.

The best thing I did in the camp was the giant swing because I went all the way up and it surprised me. At bedtime we had fun in my cabin. I felt good when Fr.Chinua visited us for dinner.

I enjoyed doing the rockpool ramble as we had to do a scavenger hunt and I got to see a lot of sea creatures.

- Mariana

I enjoyed the cabin time because I spent time with my best friends. I challenged myself to do the flying fox and I was so proud of myself for doing it. I was so proud as I participated in all activities.

My favourite activity was the rockpool ramble because I found lots of creatures.The food was delicious there. The movie night was good.

Sleeping in the same cabin with my friends was like a giant slumber party. The giant swing was really fun. I was feeling the wind in my hair. I really enjoyed the initiatives activity we did with Ms Georgia.

I loved going on the flying fox, it was fun just to go fast on the zipline. The dessert was delicious. It was fun to play in the cabin with my friends.

My favourite part was playing in the gaga pit, it was so cool because you cant be hit in your face. I liked the zipline, I was scared at the beginning but it was fun to do. The breakfast was really delicious. I had extra hashbrowns.

- Savannah

I was very nervous to go on the flying fox but then it was fun and not scary at all. I almost got butterflies in my tummy while I was on the giant swing. I learned a lot about teamwork in the initiative activity with Ms.Georgia. At bedtime I really missed my family but I did finger breathing to help me sleep.

I did the giant swing which was very scary in the beginning but when you actually swing, it is fun. It was really fun being with my friends in a cabin because it was my first experience being by myself without my family. I learned how to put a harness on and climb on the ladder for the flying fox which was very scary but when I finished I wanted to do it again.

- Seha

Going on the giant swing was the best part of my camp. I went all the way up and I was nervous thinking that I was going to fall down but later I had fun while swinging. 

- Andrea

It was really fun at the camp. For some activities we got to be in groups and have to work as a team. I had my friends in some of the groups. My favourite bit was doing the initiatives and rock pool ramble because I got to pick up a crab and in initiatives we got to work together as a team.

As this is the final newsletter for the term, I just want to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and Happy Easter spent with family and friends. I look forward to seeing all of you at the start of term 2.
