Easter Raffle

On Tuesday, a group of amazing Mums spent the morning here at school wrapping up the hundreds of Easter eggs and toys that were generously donated to the school by you all.

There are so many prizes and they look amazing!

To Miho, Courtney, Pam, Elena and Renae - a massive thank you!

Tickets will be on sale at the picnic tomorrow evening if you would like to buy more. All raffle books must be returned by next Monday and we will draw the raffle on Wednesday April 6th.

COVID reminder - be vigilant and keep testing

I feel it is important to remind everybody that although we are not currently experiencing large numbers here at school, there are still a huge number of Victorians testing positive to COVID every day. With winter on our doorstep, numbers will potentially increase moving forward.

Could I please ask everybody to remain vigilant and ensure that Grade 3-6 are bringing their mask to school with them each day. All students should still be RAT testing twice a week, preferably on Mondays and Thursdays, or any day where they are experiencing cold-like symptoms. A new box of RAT tests will be sent home with students this week, which will cover testing for next week and the first week of Term 2.

The Circus Crew - Whole School Performance Evening

The Circus Crew are returning to S.F.X!

We are thrilled that in Term 3 this year, Ben and the team from the Circus Crew will be visiting us to run circus skills sessions here at school. This is the third time that we have engaged the Circus Crew to work with our school, and each time has been an awesome experience for both the students and our families.

During Term 3, students will get weekly circus skills sessions and learn the tricks involved with a range of apparatus, such as devil sticks, diablos, juggling balls, hula hooping and walking on stilts.

All the training culminates in a whole school performance at the George Jenkins Theatre (Monash University - Frankston) on the evening of Thursday 15th September. Please do your very best to keep this date free, as we would love for every child to have the opportunity to get up on stage. Tickets will go on sale early in Term 3.

Farewell to Miss Maxine

I have some very sad news to share with you all. Our amazing Miss Maxine, who has run the office here at St Francis Xavier since 2001, has made the decision to retire at the end of this term.

22 years of continuous service to our school - what an outstanding achievement! Maxine has been such an integral part of our school community throughout this period and along with Mr B, has been our longest serving staff member. She has been a huge support to both myself and the two previous Principals at S.F.X, making sure that the school operations always run smoothly and the books keep balancing at the end of each year!

Maxine has 3 beautiful grandchildren now and thoroughly deserves the opportunity to spend time with them, along with her family and many friends.

On behalf of all the current and past staff, students and families, thank you for the massive contribution you have made here at St Francis Xavier Primary School Maxine. It has been greatly appreciated and will not be forgotten!

Welcome to Miss Monique and Good Luck to Miss Georgia

I would like to announce Miss Georgia’s replacement teacher for when she begins her Maternity Leave at the beginning of Term 2.

Miss Monique Seedsman will assume the role as classroom teacher each Monday and Tuesday for the remainder of the year. Monique is a fantastic teacher who has already taught this class on a few occasions this term. We are thrilled that she accepted the position and look forward to welcoming her into our vibrant St Francis Xavier Primary School community.

We also wish Miss Georgia all the very best as she begins her leave. We can't wait to hear your special announcement in the coming months!

School Closure Dates - Term 2

There will be a school closure date on Tuesday 24th May. On this day, staff will be participating in Professional Learning in the area of Mathematics. Please mark this date in your calendars.

Finally, just a reminder that next Friday 8th April is the final day of Term 1. Students will finish at the normal time or 3:15pm on this day.

I would like to wish every family in our school the blessings of the Easter season. May the peace and joy of Jesus’ resurrection be reflected in your daily lives and actions. I wish you all a safe and happy holiday break and look forward to welcoming everybody back on Tuesday 26th April for the first day of Term 2.

Have a brilliant weekend everyone.
