Ride 2 School Day

On Fri 1st April, St Columba's celebrated Ride 2 School Day!Students came dressed in their PE uniform for the day and rode, walked, scooted or skated to school to promote active travelling! Students started the day with a healthy breakfast and we awarded house points to the children who decorated their bikes and scooters with their house colours! Extra special mention to Zion for his very creatively decorated bike! Overall we had 111 students travel actively to school by either riding, walking, scooting, skating or taking public transport. Amazing effort everyone! If we can travel actively every day, we would make a huge difference to our planet!

Woolworths Bee Grant

Last year our school won a Woolworths bee grant to use for education around pollinators and plants and to plant our 4 planter boxes around the art room with indigenous plants that attract pollinators! Wonderful Meg from the Green team ran some refresher sessions with our 3/4 classes around bees, native plants and how to design each planter box to attract the most amount of pollinators to our school. We can't wait to begin designing our planters and then planting them early next Term!
