The selection process for our 2022 Captains for our school has concluded. Congratulations to Deniz Karakaya and Jesse Orsini on being named as our two College Captains. I am sure that they will be excellent ambassadors for our school next year and I know how passionate they both are on wanting to make our school the best it can be for all. I am looking forward to working alongside both of them throughout next year.

The next step in building our student leadership group is the selection of our values, inclusion and first nation ambassadors. This will be completed this week.
Although it has been a long time since we held our Athletics Carnival way back on the 18th of August, we finally managed to hold an outdoor assembly on November 3rd, where we presented the age-group champions with their trophies and announced the winning House.

Also presented at our outdoor assembly were JB-HiFi vouchers to a student from each year level who got into the spirit during our online RUOK day presentations by dressing up in yellow. Congratulations to:

This coming Thursday, November 11th, our school will pause together for one minute at 11am to reflect and remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defence of their country. As a soldier settlement 100 year old this year, Red Cliffs has a strong bond with the First World War, and marking the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, when the Armistice to end WW1 in 1918 is an important event with historical significance for our community.
Due to increased time at home during Remote Learning many students have increased their online interactions and gaming. Hence students have had more interactions with other school students on a daily basis.
As a result, we have also had increased reports of online harassment, bullying and use of

inappropriate language towards other students. We have had parents reporting far too many incidents of an inappropriate nature. Some parents unfortunately are wanting school staff to solve problems coming directly from online interactions that have taken place in the family home. I have to say respectfully, if you allow your children to be online interacting in a manner that causes harm to others, you must also be prepared to solve the problem at a family or household level.
We will not continue to be spending an inordinate amount of time following up incidents that have no connection at all to school and have started in the family home. We have so much additional work to do at this time that it cannot take anymore teacher or leadership time.
