Parents & Friends Association

The Clayfield College Parents and Friends Association (P&F) is an essential and active member of the College community, supporting the College through fundraising and social events. There are four support groups under the umbrella of the P&F Association;

  1. The Friends of Sports
  2. Primary School
  3. Music
  4. Boarder Parents

The P&F Association and support groups are open to all parents and caregivers of students attending Clayfield College, past students, parents of past students, members of the College staff and any friend of the College.

The P&F have regular and relaxed meetings. These are usually held once a month on a Tuesday night during term time, starting at 6.30 pm in the Learning Resource Centre (LRC). The meetings are open to all parents and caregivers to come along and get involved in supporting the College. We encourage you to come along to meet other parents, get to know our Principal, Dr. Andrew Cousins and Deputy Principal, Mrs. Audrey Fellowes and learn so much more about the College. Meeting dates are published in the College calendar, and we send reminders out on the College app. There is no need to ask; just come along. You will always be made very welcome.

This year commenced with the Annual Welcome Night on the first Friday in February. It was an excellent opportunity to catch up with other parents and meet the new families at the College. This is always a popular event so watch out for information early in the new school year for the 2022 date.

Even with the second year of COVID, we managed through hard work and tenacity to hold as many events as possible. This year the P&F supported Opus 3 & 4 with the bar; the inaugural Colour Run was a huge success and was combined with the opening of our major fundraiser, the upgrade of the multi-use courts for tennis, netball, and a multitude of other eye/hand coordination sports for Pre-Prep to Year 12.

The inaugural car raffle by the SSG was also a huge success, with the winner coming from the school community.

As stated, similar to last year's contribution to the Assembly Hall, we were again able to contribute to the school community with donations to allow the construction of the new multi-use tennis courts, a project that all students will use at Clayfield. We also contributed to LUX, the Sports Women's Awards Dinner, World Teachers Day, funding for a new nature playground for Pre-prep to be built in 2022, funded new provisions for STEM in Primary, funded a new thermomix for the tuckshop, contributed to a STEM mentorship program for Years 4 to 12, funded the Story Dogs Year 3 reading program and the list continues.

We also have a new re-draw system for allocating funds to worthy projects driven by the school's requirements to maximise the learnings and experiences for our students.

2021 has been another memorable year, and we look forward to a busy 2022, which will include 4 major events; Colour Run, Car raffle, Jazz on the Green and a Trivia Night. We look forward to having you all involved. For more details, please visit: https://www.clayfield.qld.edu.au/community/parents-friends
