STAFFING UPDATE

As always happens at the end of each year, we will say a fond farewell to some of our staff and warmly welcome new members to our team.

We fondly farewell Dominique Oosterbaan and Suzie Dawe with both these lovely ladies deciding the time has come to retire to embark on the next chapter of their lives. They have both given much to CPS over many years and will be greatly missed.

Dallas O’Brien, Natalie Jones and Ingrid Jones’s contracts are concluding, so they won’t be here at the beginning of the year but we do hope they may return filling casual positions that occur throughout 2022.

Peta Bourke, Rebecca Batten and Alicia Parker will also be saying farewell to us at the end of the year. Peta and Bec will each be eagerly awaiting the birth of their first baby and Alicia, her second. What precious times lie ahead .😊 Jess Langley, who has been on family leave for 2021, will be returning to CPS, in a full time role for 2022 and is looking forward to being back with us all.

Emi Nakajima and Cate Allan have been granted leave, from Carnegie, for the 2022 year and we wish them all the very best in their endeavours and look forward to their return in 2023.

New staff appointed against recently advertised vacancies are Matthew Lello, Kylie Chadwick and Sarah Cochrane and we very much look forward to them joining us at Carnegie in the next few weeks as part of our induction process and from the start of 2022.

Additional positions may need to be advertised and the processes completed over the coming weeks. I am hoping to have all staff for 2022 appointed by early December.

CLASSES FOR 2022

The leadership team and more particularly the classroom teachers will shortly commence the makeup of next year’s classes. The first criteria is that each child is placed with at least one friend they have chosen from a small list. There are lots of pieces of information and observations that are taken into consideration when placing the children and we ask once again that you support our decisions. We value all our teachers equally and again point out to you how closely our teams work together to take equal responsibility for the outcomes of all students in each grade area. We are very lucky with regards to the quality of our teachers across the board and this should not be taken for granted. The students will be told their placements before the end of term and will have a short session with their new class. Your support of your child can be quite enhanced by receiving news of their placement with enthusiasm and encouragement.

LAST DAY OF TERM & HOLIDAY BREAK

Term 4 ends on Thursday 16th December at 3.30pm. There will be a final assembly at 3.00 pm on this day so we can farewell those leaving us. The exact arrangements are dependent on DET guidelines at the time and will be shared with families closer to the date.

School commences for year 1 to 6 students on Tuesday 1st February. We will certainly be looking forward to seeing everyone back to commence another great year at Carnegie Primary School.

Prep students commence on Thursday 4th February with a separate letter being sent to prep families with the specific prep arrangements.
