Education in Faith

Education & Faith Leader - Sue Lema

Welcome back everyone to St Anthony's Primary School for 2021. My name is Sue Lema and this year I am joining the team to support our families to develop and emerge ourselves  in our faith. I feel very blessed to be a new member of this wonderful school community and can't wait to get to meet everybody.

Term 1 is jam packed with liturgical events and is a beautiful way to start the year.

Each morning at 8.50am our students will engage in Christian Meditation and so I ask if all students could please be at school on time.

All students will be attending Mass fortnightly with our new Parish Priest, Father Leenus. Each class will alternatively lead the Mass throughout the year. Mass will commence at 9.15am on a Friday.

In Week 2, on Friday the 5th of February, the school celebrated our Commissioning Mass where the staff and Year 6 students were commissioned with the 'Light of Leadership'.

This term  will also be a very special time for our Year 3 & 4 students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. There will be more information to follow regarding this important event as well as all other Sacraments which will occur this year.

We will be preparing for the beginning of Lent by eating pancakes on Shrove Tuesday, 16th of February.  More information will be sent out to you regarding this by your classroom teachers.

On Wednesday, 17th of February, all students will be attending Mass to participate in Ash Wednesday and mark the beginning of Lent.

At the end of the Term we will be having a Holy Week prayer service as we prepare to celebrate Easter.

I hope you are all having a wonderful start to the new year and look forward to meeting you all.

Yours in Faith,

Sue Lema
