St Brigid's News & Events

RE News

St Brigid’s Feast Day is 1st February each year- the beginning of Spring in Ireland. St Brigid and St Patrick are the patron saints of Ireland. Brigid was known for her goodness and her generosity, giving much of what she had to the poor. She devoted her life to God and the service of the poor.

Here at St Brigid’s Primary School, we celebrated by sharing this short prayer service in our classes.

The 1/2 classes prepared a display in the hallway of St Brigid and her cloak. The cloak is made up of patches displaying the characteristics of St Brigid that we want to follow- these include kindness, helping and being happy.

We will conclude our celebrations of St Brigid at our Beginning of Year Mass on Friday.

Parish and Foundation Mass and Picnic - CANCELLED

We are sorry to announce that the  Parish and Foundation Mass and Picnic scheduled for 28th February at Braeside Park has been cancelled. Unfortunately, the Covid guidelines regarding public events require a level of public safety that is impossible for us to adhere to at this time.

Foundation News

Our new Foundation students have had a fantastic start to school life. We have been busy getting to know each other and have settled in well. We have started our Jolly Phonics Program and this week we made our own little ‘Spoonville’ outside our classroom when we learnt about the letter Ss and the sound it makes.  (See above)  We had our first Visual Arts lesson with Mrs Kimball painting a colour wheel and  we can't wait to meet our Year 6 buddies tomorrow.
