BENTLEIGH DISTRICT SWIMMING

On Tuesday 25 February, 55 Murrumbeena students competed against 6 other schools at the annual Bentleigh District Swimming Carnival.

This is Miss Nelson’s favorite day of the Murrumbeena calendar year for two reasons:

1. It is my favorite sport

 2. Because the whole swim team cheers and supports our Murrumbeena students in every single race!

It is magical to watch the support. This year there were students with gold capes and pom poms, making the Beena swim team even more electric.

The swim captains, Sophia D. and Olivia L. did a good job of getting the team ready for the big day and supported all students involved.

Thanks to Mr Cook, Miss McKellar and Miss Green for coming along on the day. They helped hand out caps, swim team bucket hats, sunscreen reminders, reminded students to go to their event and calmed students down before and after races.

It was a successful day, with 9 students progressing to Beachside Division and many butterfly students going through.

Congratulations to all swimmers and especially to those progressing to the next stage. Good-luck at Oakleigh pool this Friday.
