FAMILY PICNIC

It is difficult to believe that there are only three weeks left in this term.

We still have our family picnic this Friday, and  parent teacher interviews next week as well as Harmony Week activities. We also have only a short time to organise our annual Easter raffle.

This year, to add involvement and fun to the picnic, each year level will perform a dance routine. These performances will begin at 5.30pm. Let's hope that the rain stays away!

EASTER BASKETS & RAFFLE

Thank you to Maree Tame for offering to coordinate our annual Easter raffle this year. This has been a long standing tradition at MPS and our students look forward to that special assembly on the last day of term when all the raffle tickets are drawn. Each class has a basket to collect donations for the Easter hampers, and we hope all families can support the raffle by making a donation and buying tickets.

We also support the Royal Children’s Hospital at Easter and on our last day of term we ask all students to bring their gold coin donation for the casual dress day to support this fabulous hospital. Envelopes for additional donations will also be available from the office.

LEADERSHIP PRESENTATION

Last week it was a pleasure to present badges to all of our Student Representative Council members and the captains of our Year 6 leadership teams.

It was also my great pleasure to award the first MPS Aussie of the Month award to Calvin in Year 5.

HARMONY WEEK

This year’s theme is, ‘Everyone Belongs’. On Monday, we look forward to seeing some special items that children might be able to bring along and share with their classes to help others learn about different cultures.

INNER SOUTH REGIONAL CONFERENCE

At the end of February, Chellee Plumb and I attended the Inner South Regional 2020 Leadership Conference. This conference involves Department of Education and Training leaders, principals and assistant principals in the networks of Beachside, Port Phillip, Stonnington and Glen Eira.

The main speakers at the conference were Richard Gerver, who has written a number of books on school leadership including, 'Creating Tomorrow’s Schools Today', and Psychologist Sabina Read, who had a focus on the importance of wellbeing.

PARENT TEACHER DISCUSSIONS

Parent teacher discussions will be held next week on Tuesday March 17 and Wednesday March 18 for all grades.

To book your interview times, log into the Compass portal. If you are having difficulty logging in, please use a PC, not your phone, and call the office if you need further assistance. 9568 1300
