I PALAZZI DI GENOVA- GRADE 3&4s

This week, Grade3&4s completed their virtual tour in one of the most beautiful cities in Italy: GENOVA.  As we did for VENEZIA a few weeks ago, students learnt about the history of the city, special places and iconic things related to Genova, like IL PESTO.

Above many features, Genova is famous for an elegant street, called STRADA NUOVA/ New Street, where the most amazing, elegant and rich PALAZZI/buildings where built by the prominent Genovese families. These palazzi were called PALAZZI DEI ROLLI since the XVI century, as they were acknowledged in the Republic of Genoa official lists of residential and prestigious mansions, belonging to the richest families in town: a sort of posh Lonely Planet for rich travellers who could choose where to stay during official visits in Genova! Students created their own versions of STRADA NUOVA, designing 2/3D FACCIATE/facades for their PALAZZI. Such a brilliant work, bravissimi!
