From the Principal

Term 4, Week 6, Kevin Kennedy

Dear Families,

COVID19 Update

Due to the recent COVID19 developments we will not be allowing any volunteers and tutors in the school for the next two weeks.

Parents, carers and other family members are respectfully asked  not to enter any  of the school buildings.

A number of planned excursion will be cancelled as respective venues are now closed. Parents will receive information about reimbursement later this week. On a positive,  the  Kindy transition will continue as planned as will the end of year graduation ceremony.

I will provide more updates over the coming days.

Facility Upgrades

If you have been on the school grounds recently you may have noticed a significant amount of building work underway. The majority of the external work on the lift has been completed, now that each of the 16 tonne panels have been installed. The lift is expected to be operational by the start of next year.

Work has just begun on resurfacing the southern carpark, the access road to the canteen and the court behind the gym. The court will receive new fencing, line marking and new basketball backboards and netball rings.

The school pool is also getting a makeover. It will be resurfaced, have a new safety  fence, storage shed and filtration system.  Work is expected to begin before the end of the year.

The recent upgrades will provide us with high quality facilities that will benefit not just the staff and students but all members of our school community.

I would like to acknowledge how well the staff and students have managed during this extremely challenging year. COVID19, building works and associated noise has not dampened any of their enthusiasm for school life.  I would also like to thank all our families for their patience throughout the year. Access to the school has been limited and we appreciate the challenges this has posed, especially in the younger year levels. We appreciate your support and understanding.

If you have any queries or matters you would like to discuss please feel free to contact me at the school.

Kind regards,

Kevin Kennedy
