Serving the Community

Students from Boorowa Central School often participate in community service projects where they are recognised because they are seen. Until 2020, this has included being part of Anzac Day, Remembrance Day and the Woolfest Parade. Our students also take part in Australia Day ceremonies and the annual Carols in the Park events.

This year's unusual circumstances has meant that our students have had fewer chances to serve the community. That said, I was delighted to assist a small group at the Hospital Auxiliary Meeting in early November, where four hospitality students assisted with the preparation and serving of the Meeting lunch to around 70 participants. Thanks to Garrett at the Boorowa Ex-Services & Citizens Club, our Year 11 hospitality class were able to plate and serve two beautiful courses prepared by the club's chefs. The students were commended by the chefs on their skills and eye for detail and appreciated by the members of the Auxiliary for their quality service.

Congratulations to Marnie, Leah, James and Malcolm on serving our community so well.
