Co-curricular - Junior Sport

There is a saying in sport that you are only as good as your last performance. If this is the case, then the Junior School boys are a force to be reckoned with. Another set of outstanding results helped close out a very successful term co-curricular wise. Over the course of Term 4, the Junior School has been involved in the vicinity of 115 fixtures, with the vast majority resulting in a win for the boys in the Junior School. Many of the losses were part of internal fixtures (games against other teams from the College). The improvement in the boys’ skills, both physical and strategic, has been evident in training and in games. It would have been exciting to see how the boys would have gone against some of the other larger schools in the IPSHA competition this term.

A big thank you to all the coaches and staff of the College for all the time they have put into this term. I know the boys have enjoyed their time with you and the knowledge you have been able to impart has been invaluable. I hope that you have enjoyed your time as much as the boys have.

To all the parents, thank you for driving all around Sydney delivering the boys to their weekly fixtures. If not for you and your support, there wouldn’t be any Saturday sport. I hope this weekend sees you able to relax, and who knows, maybe sleep in a little.

A reminder that, as the summer season has concluded for the Junior School all training has ceased for the remainder of the year. The exception being Rugby skills training that will still be held on Thursday afternoon on SPC 3.

For all those families with boys returning in 2021 (either in Year 6 or 5), summer sport trials for 2021 will be held on Friday 29 January, the first day back in Term 1. All boys will need to bring their sports uniform with Colour House shirt. Boys should also bring any personal equipment for trials such as helmets and batting gloves for Cricket (boys are welcome to bring their own kit), mitts for Softball and anyone trialling for Tennis must have their own racquet.

I look forward to another outstanding summer season in 2021.
