Unfortunately, with the onset of rain, thunder and lightning, all 8.00 am games were cancelled. This is marked as a washout on Xpoint and all points are allocated equally for those games.
Luckily the sun came out and the 10.00 am games went ahead as planned. It was a fun morning, with only 4 matches being played and 3 of those were Pius vs Pius. The game between Antony Autore and Aidan Seifert was a great one to watch; there were some excellent rallies between the two players with Aidan eventually winning 6-2. Ryan Fong and Rory Cooper both shone in their singles matches winning, 6-2 and 6-3 respectively. The battle between Pius 1 and Pius 2 was on with 2 tie breaks from the 3 sets. Andrew McKinnon and Max Leo (Pius 2) were the winners on the day both winning their singles.
There have been a couple of errors with the scores recently so please ensure that you are checking your weekly scores, rankings and draw on the Xpoint site: https://www.xpointsports.com/region/325/currentEvents

ISA Round 2 – 1st XI v Oakhill College at Oxford Falls #1 A stormy start to the day made play look unlikely at Oxford Falls in Round 2 of the 1st XI ISA Competition. The clouds cleared and the covers were removed to reveal the superb job done by our ground staff in between all the rain from the past week.
Oakhill sent the 1st XI in and early losses left the score at 2-20. Captain, Joe Colgan, continued his fine form from last week in compiling a confident 43. Charlie Sharp and Riley Kennedy both struck the ball well as each fell just short of well-deserved half centuries. Harrison O’Brien finished the innings off in style with some clean hitting in his undefeated 40 as the home side ended on 7 for 236.
As the storm clouds began to gather again, the 1st XI moved quickly through their overs. Logan Nicey’s 2-30 from 10 consecutive overs opening the bowling was crucial in getting through the overs and gaining early breakthroughs. Liam Chang conceded just two runs in his 5 over opening spell which placed Oakhill under pressure. His throw for a run out and Charlie Sharpe’s two catches also played their part. Nick Ward’s 7 over spell of 2 for 11 was just what was needed to maintain this pressure. The star with the ball was Liam Kinna whose leg spinners were rewarded with the outstanding figures from 9 overs, 4 maidens, 5 wickets for 16 runs. The last eight opposition wickets fell for just 17 runs as Oakhill was dismissed for 65 just as the rain began.
Well done to all members of the 1st XI who overcame illness and injuries to record a commanding victory against last season’s premiers.

Mr David Reay - Cricket Convenor
It was a good day overall on Saturday. I was very proud of our efforts and sportsmanship, despite some of the scores being a little lopsided against us. Most of our teams played St Augustine’s teams and we walked away with some good wins across all the divisions. Well done to our E teams who travelled out to Oakhill for their afternoon games.
Game of the day: The 13As secured our only Win for the A teams.
Deserves a mention: The 13Bs and 13Cs had good wins against St Augustine’s teams. The 13Ds also got up over Oakhill College. The 15As were pipped at the post after an impressive fight back, against a fast-starting St Augustine’s team.
