Christmas Giving at St Pius 2020

As stated in last week's Woodchatta, we have decided to extend our Christmas Giving in 2020.  This is due to us being unable to complete many of the Social Justice activities that make up the fabric of living out our Catholic Faith in a manner authentic to the charism of Edmund Rice. This means that the Junior School, along with Year 7 will be supporting the “Giving Tree” for St Mary’s, Bowraville.  This will continue our long standing relationship we have with this community. The other Year Groups have each been allocated another organisation that they will support, assisting this organisation to “Give to the poor in Handfuls”. The attached document outlines each organisation by Year Group, along with the goods that our Year Groups will be collecting.

Students from each Year Group will hear about their allocated organisation through Homeroom meetings, Year meetings and their RE lessons.

All families are asked to take this opportunity to plan, prepare and assist us to complete our work so that as a community we can bring joy during the Christmas period to many who may be experiencing hardship at this time. Our collections will commence on Monday 16 November (Week 6). All students are asked to bring their goods to Homeroom where they will be collected and collated by our Student Leadership Group.
