   WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD

I would like to remind all parents willing to assist at the College you need to apply for a Working with Children Card by going to the following site.

http://www. workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/home/applications 

If you already have a Working with Children card but are new to the College please go on this site and add Dromana College to your card. The initial card will cost you the price of a passport photo from there, it is free for volunteers.

 

FREE BREAD BAKERS DELIGHT

Do you shop at Bakers Delight Dromana or Somerville? If so, then mention you are from Dromana College to link a 5% annual donation from all your purchases. This will be donated to the schools welfare fundraising at the end of the year. Please support this business as loyally as they support us.

 

PARENTS & FRIENDS ASSOCIATION

Dromana College Parents and Friends meet the first Wednesday of each month at 7.00pm in the Administration Building. Parents, Guardians, Grandparents and students are welcome.

The Parents and Friends have just distributed their fundraising money for 2015/2016 year. Some of the things they supported were Breakfast Club, HPV, Science, Wellbeing Team guest speakers, a dishwasher for foods department, Music Department, Art Department, extra wet suits and jackets for Outdoor Ed, Year 7 & 8 production and Cambodia trip.

By supporting the events the P&F organise you are contributing to all of these great things for our students.

 

PARENTS AND FRIENDS BUNNINGS BBQ

The last Bunnings BBQ was a wonderful success with over $1300 raised. I would like to thank the following people for all their hard work in achieving this great result. Leanne Mc Leod, Di Johns, Nicole Griggs Samantha Jolly, Larissa Hennessy, Natalie Ryan, Paula Francis, Jo Wycisk, Aisha Baker, Lailah Baker (student) Derick Le fleur, Jessica Ord, Rayke Stapleton, Fiona and Danny Twil.

 A special thanks to Fiona Twil for her BBQ coordinating and Karla Metcalf for peeling and slicing the onions. These funds will go towards equipment for whole school in the 2016/2017 year.

 

PENINSULA TEENAGE FASHION AND ART EXHIBITION 2016

If you have a business or you know of one that would like to advertise in the program for this event please contact me at the College for further details. Advertisements start as low as $50. See attached poster regarding this wonderful event.

 

BREAKFAST CLUB NEWS

The Wednesday breakfast programs runs from 8.00am to 9.00am and serves hot Milo and toast with jam, vegemite or honey. If you are keen to help please contact me at the College, or if you would like to donate any of the following items in 2016 please leave at the front office. The items we use are margarine, jam, vegemite, milo, hot chocolate, napkins and disposable gloves. Make sure you leave your details so we can thank you or the company who made the donation. We have a letter at the College to ask for donations if you require one.

A big thank you to Mornington Centro and Fran Hutchinson for the generous donation of 200 litres of milk.

Keep those donations coming. We are also always looking for volunteers to join our happy team of helpers.

 

SAVE THE DATE

Dromana College will celebrate 50 Years on 12 March 2017. A committee is currently being formed to plan this great event.

SECOND HAND UNIFORM

We have a large amount of boy’s trousers, shorts and woollen jumpers at very good prices. See me at the College on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays if you wish to purchase 2nd hand uniform.
