Year 8

Bentleigh RSL,

School Community Awareness Program

Thursday 1 August Mr Wood and some Year 8 students went to the Bentleigh RSL,  for the Annual School Community Awareness Program. We went there to learn more about what the RSL does in the community.

We listened to a wide variety of speakers, some had been in World War 2 and the Vietnam War.  It was terrible to the hear about the true horrors that these people witnessed but it was very educational and interesting.

After the presentations we all enjoyed a nice afternoon tea that was prepared for us by people at the RSL. We then headed back to St James College.

We are very thankful for all those involved in giving us this special experience, including the war veterans and hope we can do it again next year.
