After a year of coaching and practice Chess Club had their first of two Interschool tournaments on Friday 10th August.

Held in our Camino building the 25 members of St James, versed the Chess Clubs of Mazenod College and St Michael’s Grammar.

The greatest surprise of the day, came from the talent displayed by our Year 7s.

Our top two players were Year 7 students, Matthew and Yasha.

Our Top 14 players will now compete in the SIS Chess Competition in September against 8 other schools.
