SCIENCE WEEK 2019

Destination Moon: More Missions, More Science

Our theme for Science Week this year was in conjunction with the 50 Year Anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing.

With this in mind, students had the opportunity to watch a classic Australian film, “The Dish”, all about the involvement of Australians in the communication and images of the lunar landing from Parkes, NSW.

We had an open laboratory at lunchtime, and thank you to Maryanne O’Connor for showing the boys different demonstrations with Dry Ice. The students were in awe of the Van De Graff Generator, created ‘Elephant’s Toothpaste’ and were able to view a 50 year old Fibre Optic night light, one of the first of its kind!

Thank you to all the students who were so interested and engaged, and to those that were involved in the daily Science quizzes, with prizes for each of the winners.
