Winifred Berry Library:

Knitting Club is launched:

Congratulations must go to Zoe Sharrock for her initiative in seeing her vision through to its inception. Our inaugural meeting was held last Thursday at recess and was well attended by a posse of Year 11 boys. Regular meetings will be held on Thursdays at recess and new members will always be made welcome. The decision is that we knit for aged and or homeless people and Zoe has sourced a range of needle sizes to cater for all sizes of hands. We have also purchased an amount of wool which we hope will enable all attendees to commence this week. You can see the launch photos here.

Book Club:

Hooray – we finally had a Tuesday that was uninterrupted by other events, much to our

leader Lachlan’s pleasure. Members got to see new arrivals from Lamont Books, and they had the opportunity to choose one title to read first.  Another enthusiastic meeting of a mainly male crew.

See more here.

We have our first book ready to be set free as part of the Book Crossing program. The book will be launched "into the wild" in a zip-lock bag (for waterproofing) with a notice saying what Book Crossing is and a unique code number. The release will occur after next Tuesday’s Book Club meeting, so members can see the package and get a clearer picture of what might follow! It’s rather like putting a message in a bottle but with books!

Handbury Library:

This week’s Library lessons have been somewhat curtailed due to NAPLAN testing and Mr Nelson’s inability to clone himself! As the Head of the Campus he has been required to supervise the tests, which has had some impact on classes attending their lessons. He should be back to his amazing Library lesson presentations next week, and we are sure he will be pleased to have the administration associated with this testing behind him for this year. Please ensure that books borrowed earlier this term, or even late last term, come back for others to borrow as soon as they are finished. We appreciate parental support for our programs.
