City Experience

CITY EXPERIENCE

With the end of Term Two, our Year 9 students find themselves one step closer to preparations for City Experience.  Scheduled to take place in week 7 of Term Three, from Monday 26th August to Friday 30st August, this week long excursion will be embedded into the Humanities unit of study which they will begin at the start of next term, called City Experience – Melbourne and Me.

Please be aware of some of the key details for your own planning purposes:

  • Permission to give consent will go live on Compass from:   end of term 2
  • Cost:  $70
  • Payment and consent for all five days of the excursion due by:  Thursday 8th August

A reminder that the cost allows students access to a range of places, including: the Shrine of Remembrance, the MCG, Parliament House, Eureka Skydeck, the Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne City Mission and the Magistrates Court.

If you are eligible to access the Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) then please notify the main office as soon as possible to collect a form and have discussions about transferring some or all of these funds towards the cost of City Experience when payment is able to be accepted.

Over years past students have consistently identified that this week was the highlight of their year in Year 9, and something they still remembered fondly as they moved into more senior year levels.  It will not be long now until our new Year 9s have the same opportunity to attend in Term 3 as those who have come before.  Please keep an eye on Compass for event details and information to be posted from next term.
