Year 7-9 Examinations and VCE Step Up

Our Year 7, 8 and 9 students have their examinations from Tuesday to Thursday of next week. Students have been given a copy of the timetable and a copy has been attached to the Newsletter. It is important for students to attend each session, including study sessions, so please contact Senior School Reception if your son or daughter will be absent. Students will return to regular classes next Friday, where the examination results and feedback will be provided.

Our current Year 10 and 11 students have completed their examinations and commenced their classes for 2020. This is an important time for our students, as they commence the new units and look at the work that they will be required to complete for the start of next year.

LOTE for 2020 Year 8 Students (Languages Other Than English)

Our current Year 7 students have been briefed about the opportunity to choose their Language Other Than English for next Year.

Mandarin Chinese will continue to be taught and the class is an excellent component in the preparation for the Year 9 China Experience and for further Chinese language studies at Year 9, 10 and VCE. Alternatively, students who wish to study French in Year 9, 10 and VCE can commence their French language studies in Year 8.

Please note that the Year 8 Chinese and French classes will run concurrently and therefore it is not possible to study both languages in Year 8.  There will be only one class of French at Year 8 level so positions will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.

Students have received a form that they need to return to Senior School Reception.

Booklists and Edrolo

Students have been given a copy of the 2020 booklist in class and copies will be posted home for students who have not been at school.

One resource that we will continue to use with our VCE classes in 2020 is the online learning tool called ‘Edrolo’.

Our booklist supplier, Warrnambool Books, does not have an agreement with Edrolo and therefore we are unable to provide the resources via the booklist.  The College will include the costs of Edrolo on the 2020 Term 2 accounts.
