Mr Daniel Lapolla
There have been a few focus areas for our Year 7 and 8 boys this week. We have spent a great deal of time emphasising the routine and structure which will support boys in achieving success. This progressed to goal setting to identify specific areas for growth and improvement.
Bully Report System
As a College we unequivocally do not stand for any form of bullying. Our Year 7s and 8s were spoken to regarding our online system to report incidences of bullying which can be accessed on SIMON. We also discussed how to approach bullying and how not to use the same tactics in response, particularly given that we were not happy to be on the end of such behaviour ourselves. I encourage our boys to support one another and to speak with our staff to ensure that bullying has no place at the College.
Time and Space - Mother Son and Father Son Evenings
It is great to see so many families register to participate in these evenings. The latest publication sent through is in regard to a treasured item. Please ensure to read through the requirements in order to ensure a great evening.
Commendation Process
It is great to see so many certificates coming through to highlight the positive contribution our boys are making. The commendation process acknowledges those boys who consistently do the right thing:
Hands Off Policy
Term 1 is well underway and it is timely to focus on how we expect our young men to engage with each another. The Hands-Off policy is to ensure everyone's safety and wellbeing. We absolutely want to rule out any unwanted physical contact as it is not in line with our values. As we know boys have exuberant energy levels which can at times be playful and with good intentions, however, the outcome might not always be the case. To ensure our boys avoid any injury we collectively agree to follow our Hands-Off policy.
