Year 12

Year 12 Camp
Year 12 Camp was a great way to begin the year, even if it was shorter than the usual camp. It was refreshing and fun to see everyone again after almost 2 months. The scenery was stunning and a nice change after spending months inside our homes on 2020!
We had a few workshops to participate in as part of our schedule. The yoga sessions were relaxing and we learned new breathing techniques that can come handy in the future. We also participated in wellbeing workshops where we learnt about stress management and the assistance that the Wellbeing team at Lalor SC offers. Afterwards we had the chance to participate in YMCA run activities such as archery, canoeing, a high ropes course and a giant swing. Each of these were exhilarating and a perfect way to relax, considering how hectic last year was. We wrapped up the first day with a movie, Charlies Country, which we will be studying in English this year.
Sadly, the second day of our camp was cut short by the heavy rainfall. However, we made the best of what we had. Despite the rain, we were still able to go out and participate in some activities. Some of us opted out and stayed back in the common area to watch movies or play card games. We wrapped up our final day at camp with a motivational speech from Don Elgin which was educational and inspiring. Overall, camp was a great and rejuvenating experience, and it was the best possible introduction into Year 12.
