What a fantastic day it was. CONGRATULATIONS to Kunjen

on winning the shield for accumulating the most points. We had some amazing performances by our amazing kids. We had some pretty amazing teachers and parents as well, helping to make sure that the day ran smoothly.

Received some interesting feedback from the kids including:

  • Positive – team work, getting ribbons, chants, icy poles, parent helpers
  • Negative – not getting a ribbon, waiting in line, 800m run, not whole school
  • Interesting – harder than expected, icy pole flavours, venue was cool.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following Year Level Champions;

8/9 Boys – Jordan & Theo

8/9 Girls – Elly

10 Boys – Rivin

10 Girls – Advika

11 Boys – Aarush

11 Girls – Sue

12 Boys – Tom/Javen

12 Girls - Isha

Good Luck to our kids as they head off to Districts next week.

Go Syndal!

Spot prizes will be awarded along with achievement certificates as milestones are reached. Got to be in it to win it!

Don’t forget that its National Ride to school day tomorrow & if you ride or walk to school, make sure to come through the front gate to pick up your free sticker & piece of fruit. Huge thanks to our wonderful PA for helping out with this.

Running, jumping, hopping, dodging & stepping into PE

Our year F-2 students participated in some running, jumping & stepping movement games during PE this week. That was after a warm up game of Ultimate Tag.

Swim Program

Year 3/4 students have commenced their intensive swimming program at Huntingtower this week. The swimming program will focus on effective stroke technique, breath control, powerful kicking as well as have a focus on water safety, rescue and survival skills.

Footy Clinic

Year 3/4 students participated in a footy clinic with a difference last week.

We usually have players come to the school to run the sessions, but this year, we participated in the Collingwood Community Camp Virtual School Engagement hosted by AFL players Josh Thomas and Reef McInnes online. The kids were given the opportunity to ask the players some probing questions about their life as an elite sportsman. Following the virtual experience, we went outside & had a kick of the footy.

Here is your personal invitation to join our very own PA SSPS Footy Tipping Competition. It’s easy to join and can be a bit of family fun, trying to tip winners, while raising funds for our school.
