Respect, Responsibility & Resilience

What's happening in our school?

This week we had Kathryn and Lucy from Headspace join us for a Pancake Breakfast! They shared handy tips to looking after our Wellbeing.

We then sent students and staff to represent SHNPS at Headspace for their 'Take a Step' launch. 'Take a Step' is a National Headspace campaign developed by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to support their young people's social and emotional wellbeing.

I am now 19 weeks old and loving life at my new home with Miss Kelly!

I have settled in very easily to my new home. I am a very friendly puppy, I’m pretty relaxed in general but really enjoy being cheeky and love to play. I love laying on my back on the lounge room floor under the heater, chewing my favourite packet of ‘Sniffs’ chips and trying to pop open my soft milkshake bottle to an annoying squeaky sound. I am also really enjoying meeting a few other dogs and slowly getting better with meeting new people as I can be a little shy still.

Just recently I went down to Ken Harrison Reserve for a play and run around. I loved running around in the open space, but I am still learning to get in and out of the car by myself as Miss Kelly thinks I am getting too big to carry. I have learnt a few basic things like how to sit, lay down and now I am working on knowing how to wait in the one spot and walk on a lead without trying to chew it. It will take lots of practice though, as I get too excited and just want to play.

I also just got back from a sleepover at Mr Quirk’s house while Miss Kelly went on a holiday without me! Wow, was that cool!

I am looking forward to starting work at Swan Hill North Primary School next term and learning the things I need to enable me to become a wellbeing dog.

I can’t wait to meet everyone soon!
