Dear Parents
Opening of Learning Centre
The time finally arrived on Monday morning that our new learning centre finally opened. It is such a beautiful building and we are very grateful to have such an asset for our school. Our Year 4,5 and 6 students and teachers are very excited to have new classrooms and have taken great pride in their new surroundings. If you haven’t yet seen the building please feel free to walk through and have a look, we are very proud of the building and I know our school community will be also.
This week the demountable buildings that are next to the new building will begin to be removed. After this process is finalised we should be close to finalisation of the entire project. This is expected to be around week 8 of this term.
Due to the demountable buildings being removed the Brooke Avenue Gate will be closed until Friday 29 July, thank you for your understanding.
School Review
Every Queensland state school is reviewed by the Education Improvement Branch (EIB) at least once every four years. The reviews play an important part in how the department supports school improvement. They provide schools with independent feedback, tailored to their context and needs. Our school is scheduled for a whole school review in week 6 this term from the 16th to 18th August 2022 (Week 6, Term 3).
Feedback from parents and the community is an important part of the review, with everyone encouraged to have their say. The school reviewers will be around our school over the three days speaking with parents and our school community before and after school. If you would particularly like to speak with the review team, please contact the school office or email the EIB at eibmb@qed.qld.gov.au.
School Opinion Survey
By now you would have received and e-mail inviting you to participate in the 2022 School Opinion Survey. School Opinion Surveys canvass the views of parents/caregivers, students and school staff from every state school on what our schools do well and how they can improve.
Opinions on the school, student learning and student well-being are sought from a parent/caregiver in all families and a sample of students from each state school.
I would encourage all families to complete the survey about our school so that we can continually find ways to improve.
