Year Six News

Year Six Graduation

Wow! What an amazing night, we are so happy to celebrate this special milestone face to face with families again this year, and our students did not disappoint. From the moment the night opened our amazing MCs and class representatives showed just how mature Saltwater students are. Out hosts at Dreambuilders, even commenting "I thought from the way they spoke that this was a year 9 graduation."

Alongside these amazing young speakers, families were amazed by the talents of the various performing arts groups who had been working on a special set of items to celebrate their night. The level of talent shown by students was only matched by their commitment to practicing and mastering their parts. It was a show that could have easily sold out the venue alone.

Specialist Scholarships

Each of our specialist teachers had the pleasure of awarding scholarships to a student who showed not just aptitude, but also effort and commitment to their craft. It was wonderful to see so many of our students get behind, and celebrate with, the recipients. Congratulations to the following Students:

  • Tiara Hart-Wikaire (Music)
  • Yoshimi Koizumi (Dance)
  • Kiara Thomas (Drama)
  • Amanda Deng (Art)
  • Jensen Vella (Robotics)
  • Shako Masudi (Physical Education)

IB Scholarships

We also had the chance to celebrate with 10 students who each displayed one of the ib PYP Attributes. These students have consistently demonstrated the ib PYP learner profile attributes across the entire school year and were recognised with a scholarship thanks to Reliance Real Estate.

  • Hannah Adametz (Inquirer)
  • Vihaan Dalal (Knowledgeable)
  • Nimrat Saini (Thinker)
  • Elijah Petersen (Communicator)
  • Tahlia Elliott (Principled)
  • Jack Mani Gbangima (Open Minded)
  • Achuot Wal (Caring)
  • Jessica Shirley (Courageous)
  • Arian Ray (Balanced)
  • Azra Mujagic (Reflective)

We cannot express how much the year six team are proud of these students and their commitment to being internationally minded.

Rotary Scholarship

This year again Saltwater College was privileged to be supported by Rotary, who honoured one student with a scholarship. This award recognised a student who has stepped out in service to the local community. Amelie Hassett discovered a passion throughout the year six exhibition for developing education and took action by organising a school dress up day with all money raised being donated to UNICEF Education.

Principal's Award

Each year at Saltwater, two students are recognised for their commitment to their learning across all ten of the ib PYP learner profile attributes as well as the contributions they make to their classrooms and the school community. This year Ms Daniali awarded these to two very special Students: Maitri Trivedi and Joshua Del Rosario. Congratulations and thank you both for your commitment over the last 12 months.

Thanks

As a team, we would like to thank the many staff and community members who helped make this night special as well as our generous sponsors. But we would especially like to thank all the students for their hard work over the last 7 years of primary school. We may not have shared them all with you but we definitely got the best one this year. Congratulations!
