Elective Selection in 2023

Students going into Years 8, 9, 10 and 11 in 2023 have this week attended information sessions about their elective opportunities and subjects offered next year. Now is the time to discuss elective selection with your child, if they are going in to one of these Year levels in 2023! Students will have received a copy of their respective curriculum handbook, or you can find it on our website here. 

We also welcome you to join our Curriculum Showcase on Tuesday 21 June from 5.30pm in the Resource Centre. You can find out more about education opportunities offered in NSW. You can register at https://www.moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au/curriculum-showcase/

There will also be also be an opportunity to learn about our exciting new SIM units, available in Year 9 & 10. 

What is your child studying in English next term?

Please encourage your child to read the prescribed text, along with any other fiction and non-fiction texts during the holidays. 

Year 7 – ‘Parvana’ by Deborah Ellis

Year 8 – ‘The Outsiders’ by S.E. Hinton

Year 9 – ‘Romeo and Juliet’ by William Shakespeare

Year 10 –Dystopian short texts (provided)

Year 11 - Advanced  - ‘Othello’ by William Shakespeare

Year 11 - Standard – Poetry by Wilfred Owen (texts provided)

Year 12 – Revision for Trial HSC.
