Our Camp experience

Year 7 at The Great Aussie Bush Camp, Tea Gardens

Tea Gardens welcomes Year 7

After our three day camp, here's what Year 7 had to say:

Overall I absolutely loved the Year 7 camp.  The instructors were very caring and helpful, and all the activities were great.  My most favourite activity at camp was raft building, because I loved being able to swim in the water and make a raft with my team.  The most challenging activity I faced was the High Ropes Team Challenge.  I was extremely scared as it was so high up, but in the end I got through it and I was very proud of myself.   Jack Dempsey

My camp experience was outstanding, there were many activities that pushed us to our limits, but left us with ginormous smiles and racing hearts.  I can speak for all of Year 7 when I say camp was GREAT!  My favourite activity was the trip to the sand dunes, because the water was numbingly cold, but we didn't care because we were all together.  The most challenging activity for me was the Giant Swing, as I pulled the release rope I felt my stomach rise to my chest as I swung over the forest.  Usually I wouldn't even think of doing something like that but as I climbed off the swing I smiled, whilst pretending my legs didn't feel like jelly.  Jazmyn Rizzuti

Camp was always unpredictable.  We never knew what was going to come next, and we all experienced thrills we had never felt before.  We were all pushed out of our comfort zones and our friendships grew stronger.  The breathtaking memories we made will be cherished forever.  The Mud Run was the BEST activity by far.  It got messy, but it was all fun.  The obstacles we had to go through made it even better. Everyone had a go and as a Year Group we laughed, joked around and got muddy together.  Since I'm not the best at heights, the High Ropes course was the most challenging.  I had to face my fears and have a go.  My heart was racing but it was the most confronting and breathtaking experience (literally).

The camp experience was very fun, I was excited to attempt each of the activities.  My favourite activity was the Giant Swing, because when I pulled the rope and swung off into the air, I was able to see a beautiful view of the lake.  The most challenging activity that I faced was the High Ropes course because it was difficult transitioning to each obstacle at such a great height!  Christopher Nguyen
