The creative process begins

With a large group of 23 girls and 2 boys, the second round of bakers for the Year 8 elective course displayed excellent skills with lots of creative flair - if their cupcake creations are anything to go by!

During August, students began the creative process of planning, purchasing ingredients and cooking in preparation for the September Showcase. Voting was opened to Year 8 students, senior students and staff of Cecil Hills High School.

On the day, students worked hard and kept the kitchen rather clean considering the large number of participants. They worked collaboratively, problem solved for each other and showed great sportsmanship by sharing their decorative ingredients with those whom had little to help.

Voting begins

Students was nervous as lunch time neared for voting to begin. We had a great turn out, a lot of offers to help dismantle the display and lots of suggested votes for Best Theme, Most Creative and Best Presentation. Everyone was blown away by the creativeness, level of skill and quantity of lollies on display.

The votes were counted and results were very tight with only one or two votes between most placings. We had a draw for Third in the Most Creative category and due to the tightness of votes, two groups were awarded Highly Commended.

3rd – Merve Sag and Dazleen Narayan (Mermaid Magic)

Most Creative:

1st – Ayah Toufaili and Caitlin Ofosuah (Pinky Peach Bottoms)

2nd – Aline Vu and Tayla Davis (Winter Wonderland)

A tie for Third Place:

3rd – Chiara Miceli and Bianca Vitale (Cupcakes)

3rd – Corinne Scott and Claudia Severino (Sugar Rush)

Best Presentation:

1st - Chiara Miceli and Bianca Vitale (Cupcakes)

2nd – Aline Vu and Tayla Davis (Winter Wonderland)

Highly Commended:
