Our Special Education classes

Outside the classroom

Located outside our Special Education classes, it has been a great pleasure to watch our students and staff members enjoy the beauty of our vegetable and flower garden!

A sensory experience for students, our garden offers students the opportunity to practise their observation skills and to learn various life skills (including gardening and to know where food actually comes from) and helps teachers highlight healthy food choices. Students value our garden as they learn about the various vegetables and take great pride in harvesting produce to distribute to staff and students.

Our garden also provides opportunities for teachers and students to sit and talk. We welcome all students and staff to visit our garden - perhaps to enjoy recess or lunch whilst enjoying the beautiful  colours and fragrances of our vegetables and flowers.
