Summer Uniform

The Summer Uniform consists of a regulation grey (Years 5 – 10) or white short sleeve shirt (Years 11 and 12) that does up at the collar and worn with the College tie. The College blue shorts or grey trousers (Years 7-12 only) are worn at the waist supported by a black belt.  If wearing shorts our boys wear the College long socks with garters, or black or grey socks with the long pants. Footwear must be black leather lace-up shoes that take a shine.

On colder days the College jumper is able to be worn. The College rain jacket has been an excellent addition that our students can wear on wet days or as part of their Sports Uniform.  The College Uniform also includes the College Backpack.

Summer Uniform items are available for sale in the Uniform Shop.

Year 10 - Australian History Competition

In Term 2 Year 10 History students participated in the Australian History Competition. This involves 50 challenging multiple choice questions based on the Australian Curriculum History syllabus. St Pius X College produced excellent results including 12 Distinction recipients who were presented at a Year 10 meeting last week.

There were nine High Distinction certificates awarded to the following boys at the College Assembly on Monday:  Adam Carpenter, Michael Cavaleri, Thomas Hopkins, Liam Kinna, Ashley Johnson, Joshua Overton, Alec Ramsbottom, James Scaiff and Nicholas Ward.

These students were placed in the top 1% of all those involved in the competition nationwide.  Nicholas deserves special mention for recording the third highest mark in Australia for correctly answering 46 questions out of 50.

Congratulations to these students and all of Year 10 for their efforts.

Kokoda Track Expedition 2020 – Training Begins!

Expedition dates:   Monday 29 June – Thursday 9 July 2020

Sunday witnessed 26 members of the College community walking the 13.4 km from Brooklyn to Cowan. Beautiful weather, good company, indigenous carvings, middens, history and scenery were all highlights of our first training hike for the 2020 Kokoda Track Expedition. Many questions were answered and options discussed from water purification to how big the hills were going to be.

Congratulations to all who were motivated enough to join us and a big thank you to the staff who assisted on the Day.

If you have expressed an interest in attending the expedition and have not received a payment timeline email or if you are interested in being included in this expedition then please contact Mr P de Silva via email at pdesilva@stpiusx.nsw.edu.au

All members of the College Community are welcome to attend these training hikes (good level of fitness required).
