My life since leaving school

I graduated from Cecil Hills High School in 2014 and have spent the last three years immersed in both study and work.

During my time at Cecil Hills High School I was a member of the student representative council and school captain. Throughout my high school experience, I engaged in both academic and sporting activities, allowing me to develop my skills in communication, leadership and team-work. I had the opportunity to learn from amazing teachers who inspired me to strive for success and to continually improve myself.

In high school I enjoyed the opportunity to participate in sporting events and Mr Condon relentlessly forcing me to participate in each and every single one! In relation to my studies, I particularly enjoyed legal studies and business studies and decided to pursue both these areas of study at university.

After graduating I commenced full-time study at Macquarie University, studying a Bachelor of Commerce with a degree in Bachelor of Laws with a major in accounting. Currently I am in my third year of the degree, it has been both extremely challenging and rewarding.

Whilst studying I am gaining industry experience by working part-time as a paralegal at a law firm specialising in personal injury law. Through industry experience I am acquiring valuable practical skills and learning new things every day.

At university I am currently a peer mentor, engaging with new university students to assist them in transitioning from high school to university life. Being able to assist and guide students in their transition has been a rewarding part of my university experience and has allowed me to further develop my communication skills. I have also engaged with the Macquarie University Law Society, participating in numerous university events and meeting new people.

After completing my degree, I plan to undertake the PLT (practical legal training) to become a solicitor and pursue my career in a commercial law environment.

My experience at Cecil Hills High School allowed me to develop my skills and discover my interests in an environment with a culture of striving for success.
