A confronting and arduous process

The completion of a major work for a Higher School Certificate subject represents a significant achievement for each Year 12 student. Visual Arts students in Year 12 create a submission of a completed ‘Body of Work’. Through their artmaking experiences, students have the opportunity to create artworks in a wide range of media including two, three, and four dimensional forms. They utilise the expressive properties of these forms in the creation of artworks that give visual form to their ideas about their world. This ‘Body of Work’ represents 50% of their HSC mark.

The Bodies of Work this year have been incredibly demanding and challenging, being a long term process and constantly changing. Undertaking a Body of Work is an exciting yet sometimes confronting and arduous process as the artist works from the known to the unknown. These major projects represents the culmination of twelve months creative and critical excellence from our Class of 2017 HSC Visual Arts students.
