Creating beautiful music - our String Ensemble

String Ensemble

The Cecil Hills High School Violin String Ensemble runs every Tuesday afternoon during school hours. The group consists of Year 9 and Year 10 students. Students are given the opportunity to learn how to play the violin through the Suzuki method. As beginning violin students, they explore a range of pieces from the Suzuki method books, alongside popular songs such as 'All My Loving' by The Beatles! Each violin student is also able to borrow a school violin so that they can continue practising at home.

Students are also given the opportunity to perform at the school's Showcase, year assemblies, as well as attending excursions. Being a member of the String Ensemble allows them the chance to interact with their peers and develop their violin skills in a group.

The following comments were made by some students:

Year 9 student Lara says 'Being involved in the violin group gives me the chance to learn more about music'.  Helen 'I am able to make new friends'.   James 'I am able to develop my skills as a musician'.

It has been a pleasure teaching these students and it has been wonderful witnessing their progress throughout the year.
