Berry Springs 2016 Visit to Nossal High School
Berry Springs is a Primary school south of Darwin in the Northern Territory. Nossal High School first welcomed a group of students from Berry Springs in 2012 as part of our Northern Territory Program with Berry Springs and Maningrida College. Since then we have either travelled to the Northern Territory or welcomed students to Nossal each year.
On Wednesday November 8, we welcomed Jenny Webber (Scientist and Teacher) and Ken Brodie (former Vice Principal and teacher) and eleven Grade 6 students to Nossal to be part of a Science and Sports program. Diane Latham and Andrew Hamilton, in collaboration with Chris Bramich and the Queen of explosions, bugs and chemical wonders (aka Sherbet) LeeAnn Lees, put together a fun filled program for the students.
This year Berry Springs introduced the study of Japanese to their program. Similarly supported by the Japan Foundation. We were able to take the students to the Japanese room and practice Japanese with them and added a new and exciting dimension to the program.
We look forward to a continuing relationship with Berry Springs which will encourage mentorship in the Science, Sports Science and Japanese areas and further development of the program.
It was a joy to be a part of it.
