Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF) and Year 7 Uniform Package 2018
CSEF will be provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school camps, sports and excursions. If you hold a valid means-tested Centrelink concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families.
The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, sports and excursions for the benefit of your child. The annual CSEF amount per student is $225 for secondary school students.
CSEF must be re-applied for each year. Contact the school office to obtain a CSEF application form or download the form from www.education.vic.gov.au/csef Please note we require a copy of your Centrelink concession card with the application.
Year 7 2018 students who receive CSEF are entitled to a uniform pack. Information and Application forms can be obtained from the school office.
Please note applications for the Uniform Allowance close at the end of term one, 29 March 2018 and applications for CSEF close 22 June 2018. If you have any questions please contact accounts.
Excursion Payment and Consent
It is a legal requirement that consent is given for students to attend and or participate in events such as excursions and sport. Payment and consent on the day or the day prior to an event is not sustainable for the college. Teachers and coaches need to know who is attending events with sufficient notice for buses, providers and fielding sporting teams.
From the beginning of Term 2, 2018 – consent and payment for events will be due two school days before the event at midnight – for example if an event is on a Friday, consent and payment will be due by midnight on Wednesday. If the event is on a Monday the consent and payment will be due by midnight on the Thursday prior.
Parents and students will no longer be able to consent and pay for events on the day before an event or on the day of an event. If consent and payment are not received by midnight two school days before an event the student will not be able to attend.
Payment and consent can be completed on Compass, if you do not have a Compass log in please contact the office on 8545-0300.
For families who would like to use Camps Sports and Excursion Fund (CSEF) for payment of an event, please print out students excursion form via compass, complete the written consent and have students hand forms in to the general office with an instruction to use CSEF for the payment using the same timeline as above, two school days prior to an excursion or sporting event. Students can print their excursion forms in the library.
The college appreciates your cooperation and if you have any questions, please contact the general office on 8545-0300.
Year 10 Secondary School Vaccination in 2018
The Secondary School Vaccine Program offers a free vaccine to year 10 students. This vaccine provides protection against Meningococcal A,C,W,Y – one dose for year 10 students. Parents/guardians of year 10 students should look out for the vaccine consent card booklet sent home from school with your child. You need to read the information, complete and return the card, regardless of whether your child is being vaccinated at school. Vaccination day at Brentwood for year 10 students is Thursday 30 August 2018.
The Monash Council Immunisation Service may contact you about the Secondary School Vaccine Program. Schools are authorised to provide basic parent/guardian contact details to local councils for this purpose. Contact the school by 27 April 2018 in writing if you do not want your contact details given to the Monash Council Immunisation Service.
To learn more about the Secondary School Vaccine Program, the vaccines, the diseases they protect against, or how you can prepare your child for vaccination, go to www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au
Additionally, the Commonwealth government is funding vaccinations for all children under 20 years who missed scheduled vaccines. If students have missed vaccines, either in childhood or adolescence, and require catch-up vaccines, they should speak with their immunisation provider. (ie. local council or GP).
