Principal's Report - Mr Pitt

Dear Parents/ Carers,

WE MISS YOU!

The current NSW Lockdown is having an impact on every family in one way or another. I am acutely aware that everyone’s current situation is different; it is my role as school principal to ensure our whole learning community is doing okay – that means the children, their families and our staff. If you need any support, please call the school or let your child’s classroom teacher know either in a message or phone call. If we are unable to assist, we will ensure we provide you with the right advice down the track.

LEARNING FROM HOME – EDUCATION WEEK

Thank you to our amazing community for taking part in our Education Week activities last week. It was great to see lots of you sharing your posts last week. Even though we are living in extremely challenging times, seeing all members of the family taking part in the activities made me smile. The teachers also took part in some of the activities and on ‘Resilience Day – Yellow Day’, we all got together on Zoom and sent everyone a simple message – Cover Fairvale in Sunshine. PARACHUTE VISITS WITH MR PITT

With everybody learning from home, this week I have asked Mr Hopkins (1H) and Mr Ly (3L) to share what has been happening in 1H and 3L this past week.

LOANING OF DEVICES

Over the next few weeks we will commence the loaning of devices rollout. This is no easy task as the process is contactless. If you have internet access, contact your child’s classroom teacher to talk about how this works. A phone interview will take place and then all devices will be delivered to the home address provided during the phone interview. We hope this will assist our students (and parents/ carers too).

ZOOM CHECK-INS

From this week, you will find classroom teachers beginning to hold Zoom meetings. These meetings are LIVE, on-line check-in meetings. It is an opportunity for everyone to say hello. In the coming weeks, some of the check-ins may focus on literacy and numeracy activities as well. Please don’t be afraid in setting up your child to use Zoom – it is safe, easy to access and hopefully it will bring a smile to everyone’s face.

For now stay safe, stay connected and please reach out and contact the school if you need any assistance.
