World Patient Safety Day 2021
Safe maternal and newborn care
As ISQua Institutional Members we would like you to take part in our activities surrounding World Patient Safety Day, which will be marked this year on 17th September 2021.
Since the inaugural World Patient Safety Day in 2019, we have received an excellent response from our Members, who have shared with us their activities planned each year for the day and quotes and blogs on the theme of the day.
On World Patient Safety Day, ISQua will host a webinar relating the maternal health. Further details on this webinar will be shared in the coming weeks.
Please let us know your plans for the day and we will promote it on our WPSD web-page - https://isqua.org/events/world-patient-safety-day-2021.html
Every day nearly 5,400 stillbirths occur, 810 women and 6,700 newborns lose their lives. Most of these lives can be saved through the provision of safe care.
We would be very interested to hear from you, if you would like to share your thoughts on the safety of women and children during pregnancy and birth, or how you are helping to overcome the challenges and risks involved.
Please also share any activities your organisation is hosting as part of WPSD. We would be delighted to help promote these on the ISQua WPSD web-page.
Please contact Sinead smcardle@isqua.org with anything you would like to share or if you have any questions or queries.
