Year 9 News

We know our Year 9 students will approach the short remote learning program with mature work habits. Please don't hesitate to contact your student manager by Teams or email if you have any questions.  

The Year 9 team are generally pleased at this point in time as we march towards the end of Semester 1. Participation in intermediate sport was good and so too involvement in extracurricular activities organised within the college. The opportunity to take part in DTO camp is coming up soon for many students! Ms Allison and Mr Duiveman were very excited to join 9H2, 9M1, 9M3, 9S1 and 9S3 on their Geography Fieldwork in the Melbourne CBD; unfortunately, this has had to be cancelled due to the new restrictions. 

Our main point to emphasise are the upcoming dates in relation to completion of set work. Thursday 11th of June will be the last day of Semester 1, so students are encouraged to plan accordingly and to ensure all set work is completed. 

Friday the 11th of June will be a student free day to allow teachers to write reports.

We would also like to remind students that our Vermont Values are not only applicable inside the classroom but outside too. Teachers on yard duty should not be the only ones encouraging adherence, students too should also call out inappropriate behaviour. 

Please ensure that appropriate behaviour is adhered to outside at all times. 

Finally, a reminder to students about the mobile phone policy whereby phones brought to school must be switched off and stored securely in student lockers during the school day: 8.40am until 3.10pm. The aim of this policy is to provide:  a safe environment to learn, without inappropriate mobile phone use (including cyberbullying) or distractions. No mobile phones means greater opportunities for social interaction and physical activity during recess and lunchtimes. In the event of an emergency,  please see your Student Manager for phone access.
