Art at Home.......No materials? No worries.
Making art at home is easy, especially if you use your sense of play, creativity and experimentation! Students were asked to look in their kitchen pantry or outside for some unconventional mark making materials. Here are some suggestions that were made:
- vegemite
- coffee
- tea
- turmeric
- dirt/mud
- crushed berries
- crushed leaves
- crushed rocks
- makeup
- food dye
If students didn't have paper, they were encouraged to try drawing on newspaper, pages from an old book, wrapping paper, paper bags, cut down cardboard boxes.
Using the shape of a bird as a motif, the students were asked to smudge or drag their chosen materials to create feather-like marks with their fingers (no brushes needed!) and enhance them with pencil, pen or fine liner to create eyes, legs and beaks.
I wonder what unconventional material was the favorite?
