ICAS

St Xavier's is once again giving students in Years 3 - 6 the opportunity to participate in ICAS Assessments. 

ICAS Assessments TM are designed to recognise academic excellence. Students are assessed on their ability to apply classroom learning to new contexts, using higher-order thinking and problem-solving skills. The assessments will take place between 9 August and 3 September (finals dates are yet to be determined).

Subjects are: Maths, English, Science, Spelling Bee, Writing, Digital, Technologies

Eisteddfod

Here is the timetable for all classes for the Eisteddfod that starts next week. Please read carefully, especially the information about pre-purchasing tickets for certain days (please be aware that for these days, NO tickets will be available at the door). Please note the time stated is the start of the session. Please check the program (link below) for more details.

TICKETS

Due to ongoing COVID restrictions at the Gunnedah Town Hall, in accordance with Covid regulations, there will be a limited number of audience allowed into the Gunnedah Town Hall for viewing of school sessions in both the Music and Speech & Drama Eisteddfods.

The days impacted are:- 

Thursday 27th May, 9.30am - Primary Choral and Small Schools Musical Entertainment 

Thursday 27th May, 12.30 pm – Small Schools Choral, Primary Musical Entertainment 

Friday 28th May, 9.30am – Infants Choral and Musical Entertainment 

Friday 28th May, 12 Noon – Pre School & Infants Musical Entertainment 

Tuesday 1st June, 9.30am – Choral Speech 

In order to be as fair as possible to families, these 3 days will be ticketed events. Tickets will only be sold through Try Booking and will be available from 6pm, Friday 21st May 2021. Separate tickets will be required for each session, at a cost of $5 per session and restricted to 1 family member only.

There will be no tickets available at the door for these sessions. 

For all other sessions, tickets will be available at the door at a cost of $3.

School Photos

St Xavier's School photos will be held on  Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 June.

This year, Montage Fotos have introduced online payments. Parents can choose to either pay online or with cash returned to school as per previous years. Photo envelopes will come home in the next few days.

Canteen News

A big thank you to all who supported the recent canteen pie drive, we had a wonderful response. A special shout out to Kate Allgayer, Emma Brown, Ros Goscom and Kellie Maslen who helped out on the crazy pie delivery day!

 

Volunteers are desperately needed for the following:

1st Thursdays of the month

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th Fridays of the month.

If you can't spare the whole time, Sue is happy to have some people just come in for the mad, lunchtime rush between 12.00 - 1.30pm (especially on Fridays).
