Equestrian

This coming weekend we were due to have Adam Wootten conduct a two-day show jumping clinic at our Equestrian Centre. We are pleased to say this clinic has been extremely popular and has now sold out with a waiting list! Unfortunately due to the State Government announcing a lockdown today, this clinic will now be postponed and a new date will be advertised shortly. All fees for the clinic will be refunded to participants in the meantime. Apologies for any inconvenience.

Zoe Addinsall (Year 8) recently competed at the North East Zoe “Raise the Roof Tetrathlon” in Benalla.  She had a great competition with the fastest run and one point off the highest horse points. She had some strong competition and came home with a great run and won the competition by 129 points. An outstanding effort!

Zoe competed at the Coffs Harbour Autumn Championships Pentathlon last weekend. It was a four-course event (no horses). Competitors came from Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales. She set a new PB in the swimming and had a great run to win the U15 female section. She stood alongside Pedro, (Australian Modern Pentathlon coach and Olympic Official) who taught her how to judge fencing and she was able to listen to his coaching of elite fencers.  A fantastic opportunity.  Two representatives from Tokyo were competing at this event and made time to talk to each of the competitors. Zoe also competed in the teams event on Sunday, where a senior and junior competitor were put together to compete. She swam against Marina Carrier (female Olympic representative) and came in two seconds under her time and then ran against Ed Furnon (male Olympic representative) as well. Zoe is now in training ready for Brisbane this weekend to compete at the 2021 National Triathlete & Laser Run Championships in Brisbane on the 29 and 30 May. Zoe will also gain training from the current Modern Pentathlon Australia coach Bernhard Petruscchinski who is also training the two athletes representing Australia at the Olympics in Tokyo.

Zoe is keenly waiting for the announcement (due on 31 May ) for the Victorian State Tetrathlon Team to be competing at the Australian National Championships in September and October 2021. She hopefully has secured the first position after an undefeated season of competition. This will require further training sessions over weekends up to the event. A busy time ahead.
