Lock Down

We find ourselves at the moment going through another lockdown. We all hoped at school that we had seen the last of them. We have changed the setup of the iPads and Chromebooks so that they can go home at a moment's notice. That means that if we have another lockdown the Chromebooks and iPads and a home learning pack will be able to go home straight away with the children and we will communicate with parents when online learning would restart. Thank you to all the parents who went through the drive-through to pick up devices and learning materials for this week.

Operoo and Seesaw

It is most important that families sign up to Operoo- particularly when we are in a lockdown and students are not at school. All communication is sent via Operoo. Seesaw is predominately for learning; however, we do use it for updates and reminders.

Drive through pick up 3.30 pm

At this stage, we expect that the children will be back on site on Friday, June 11. We think that once all the children are back at school there will still be a few restrictions for a while. To preempt this, until the end of term pick up at the end of each day will be through the drive-through at 3:30 pm.

Parent-Teacher Interviews and Reports

We think that it is more than likely Parent Teacher Interviews will be online. We will confirm this as soon as we know. If this is the case, children will bring home a school device so that all parents can get online for their meetings. Reports will go home June 17.

We are hopeful that face to face meetings can be organised at the start of term 4 for any families wishing to do so.

Community Hub

Our new Hub Leader Hema has finished her second week at Holy Family. In that short time, she has spoken to many people in our school community and already has a number of ideas and initiatives starting to happen. It is an exciting time for both Hema and the school. We can't wait to see the first activities up and running. Please read the previous page of the newsletter and the Home Learning Portal for details.

End of term dates

Monday, June 14 is the Queen's Birthday Public Holiday and the school will be closed. It will be a 4 day school week, (Tuesday to Friday) and the last week of term will be four and a half days as school finishes at 12.30 pm on Monday, June 21 due to the Parent-Teacher Interviews.

This term will finish at 3:30 on Friday the 25th of June. On the night of the 25th, I am going with my wife to Darwin for a few days. I have never been to that part of Australia and am looking forward to having a look around. We are hopeful that things are back to normal and we can get out of Melbourne and Victoria.
