Leadership @ MPS

Building Project

We are beyond excited to announce the big news of the year - that we have been granted $5.367 million to build a brand new, state of the art Science, Technology and Arts Learning Space!!! To those who do not know, this plan has been years in the making and has involved consultation with Department bodies and local government to get this over the line. This new build will be transformative in the way that we can deliver our Science, Arts and SAKG curriculum, as well as the way that our teachers meet, plan and collaborate. This build will replace the existing 'Castle' and SAKG building to provide flexible and tailored learning environments that accommodate the needs of the school.

We have delighted in sharing this excitement with our community and know just what this means for the educational outcomes for our students. We understand that our school community is keen to know where to from here, so we have included the below timeline provided by the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) who manage the project. The VSBA provide structure, support and guidelines that we will work with throughout the planning, designing and building project. This project is VSBA led, meaning that we have a team of experts who engage consultants, architects, builders and contractors to achieve the vision of the school whose goal is to achieve the best educational outcomes for students.

Believe it or not, we are already immersed in the first stage of planning which involves a deep dive into the school's goals and educational direction and the functional requirements of the school. This directly impacts the future success of the project and informs the development of the master plan for longer term maintenance.

Next week, School Council will be informed of their role in the project and will engage in some preliminary reflection tasks. We look forward to sharing information with you over the coming weeks.

Education Week at Monty

Thank you to the many families who attended our open afternoon on Monday. The children were buzzing with excitement as they awaited their special visitors and took great pride in sharing their work and showing off their learning spaces. Thank you also for the wonderful feedback - this is definitely something that we will run in the future!

Cross Country

Congratulations to the small group of students who participated in the Division Cross Country races on Wednesday. We achieved some impressive results, including three students (Tess I, Felix M and Seb M) who will be heading to Regionals! We are incredibly proud of all of our students and the effort and resilience displayed at the event. Well done Division team!
