Care, Learn and Share Anzac Day Activity

On the 29th of April all the Care Learn and Share groups learnt about Anzac Day and did an activity for Anzac Day.

ANZAC stands for Australian New Zealand Army Corps. Anzac Day is held on the 25th of April every year. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

The Care Learn and Share groups either created a sunset out of ripped paper and stuck a shadow of a person or drew a sunset with pencils and coloured markers. There were students that just made a sunset out of the paper but there were also kids that drew a setting like the beach on their paper.

Everyone had a great time and when you’ve got time be sure to view those sunsets!

Wellbeing with Foundation students

On the 30th of April the Wellbeing Pillar went to the foundation students in FSB and did 3 different activities with them, such as painting with chalk, making pictures with leaves and building with lego.

There was a group that was building things with lego. There were children in this group that were building houses and vehicles. Some people from the Wellbeing Pillar did it with the preps but some preps did the activity by themselves.

One of the other groups were making pictures of leaves by placing the leaves under the paper and using a crayon to press over the top of the paper to get the leaf veins to show up on the paper. The kids that were doing this activity really enjoyed this activity and commented that drawing leaves was fun and that they would love to do it again.

There was a group who was working outside drawing pictures with white and yellow crayons. After they had drawn their pictures they poured water on top which created a paint effect.
