Dear Parents
I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching and getting to know your daughters over the years, witnessing their skill development and enjoyment of physical activity. Thank you for your ongoing support of myself and the Junior Physical Education and Cocurricular Sports programs. Loreto has been, and always will be, a very special part of my life. I feel so privileged to have been a part of our special Loreto Community and have so many wonderful memories that I will always cherish. I wish you and your daughters the very best in the years ahead.
With much gratitude, Narelle.

On Friday 25 November, the team of five Year 8 and 9 students competed in this all-day competition. The Ethics Olympiad is a collaborative event which encourages students to analyse and discuss real-life, interesting, ethical issues. The topics they were given on the day – from the eight they had to prepare - were:
Case 2 - Citizenship Status at Birth – disadvantages that migrants might face
Case 3 – Silkwood Energy Production – environmental impact of nuclear energy
Case 4 – Paralympic Pay Parity – why aren’t Paralympians paid the same?
Case 7 – Jaws - Who’s responsible? – close the beaches … but risk economic downturn
An Ethics Olympiad differs from a debate in that students are not assigned opposing views; rather, they defend whatever position they believe is right and succeed by showing that they have thought more carefully, deeply, and perceptively the cases in question.
Well done to Emma Choi, Alice Maycock, Sophia Hussain, Elisa Farah and Jemma Meoli. Their Fifth Place is the best a Loreto team has achieved in this competition, and they earned an Honourable Mention from the judges.
